Import an image into the software. The image can be a digital photograph, scanned into the computer, or a stock photo image. The only requirement is that it be RGB and either JPEG, TIF or BMP. The image we are using for this example is a stock photo image.

Below our image is shown as a preview of what the final bead design will be. For this example, we’re using the Loom Setting. We can also choose Peyote, 2 through 9 Drop Peyote, Comanche, Fringe, Sacred Peyote (sometimes called Gourd) or Brick if we wanted. Note the Bead Settings, which help you to determine the size of the bead to be used, the width spacing, and the final image dimensions. Since not all beads are the same size, you can put your own custom measurements of the beads into the height and width sizes of beads.

BeadCreator allows you to examine your design in detail, zooming in and out as needed. Every bead can be individually edited, or changed globally within your design. And you can switch back and forth between each of our different pattern styles to see what your design would look like in that pattern format.

You have extensive editing and color control with your design. You can choose to use beads from your inventory only, or select to use beads first from inventory and then from new stock needed; you can set a minimum number of bead colors to use (i.e. only use 100 or more beads from a color); clone sections of your pattern; add text layers using any font; and much more. Our software is not a simple pattern converting tool but a professional beadwork design tool.

As a publishing tool, we provide a number of methods to export your design for further use: as a JPG image; export to PDF; export to HTML (to create custom web page pattern designs); export as a Word document; or export to Excel.

Every pattern contains numerous data elements, from the colors used, to the quantities used from the integrated inventory and fulfillment section. Our inventory system helps you to more effectively use existing inventory to create a pattern, instead of having to spend even more money to buy more beads.

There are two desktop software versions of BeadCreator. Our flagship version is BeadCreator Pro, which creates individual patterns as described above and has the full export capabilities. If you’re a professional pattern designer who sells patterns, our BeadCreator Pro Publisher Edition lets you add ISBN barcodes; multiple patterns; customized text; price and your choice of several different cover layouts and inside page layouts to create books for resale or publication.

We also have a virtual version which is accessed through any web browser window. It is always the latest version, without having to pay for updates or upgrades. And since it is a virtual edition, you don’t have to pay to use it on multiple computers you control – just login to your subscription and click on the link to open it on any computer at home, business, or classroom.
